Last weekend we went ALL the way down to Soldier's Beach on the central coast to meet up with some people for a surf. My cold was raging and so was the surf so needless to say, I did not want to get in. And I didn't get in. The water was so warm. Especially compared to Blacksmith's, where stopped on the way home. Hello ice.
As you can see by the photos, I was the only person on the beach. It was definitely a surfer's beach. It was a pretty boring morning, sitting on the beach by myself but I'll get over it :PAll surfers and apparently an old couple I didn't notice |
Yesterday I had the day off to get my car serviced (ridiculous time frame of 5 hours!) and I convinced Brandon he needed to take the day off so we could go to the wake park again. It was great this time. There was basically no one there, so there was no waiting in line to go and you didn't feel pressured to have to line up so we had a sit down a few time to catch our breath. I used Brandon's board this time and it's a lot heavier than theirs so I nose dived in the first time. But I could pretty much just get out and go again which was good. The first clean run I did was amazing, right up until I hit the corner and had no idea what to do. The line went slack and then went taught, and I face planted into water that felt like cement. It was only when I was getting out that I noticed I had chipped one of my bottom front teeth. Mild panic followed. Which was then followed by me convincing myself it would be stupid to leave to go to the dentist right that second. The rest of the day went really well. Although I still haven't made it around that first corner at the wake park. It is an almost 90degree corner, so it's a bit cruel. I really did enjoy it, even after I chipped my tooth. I just have to learn to stop face planting.
I am so, so, so sore today. I woke up at 6 or something with aches from my thighs to my neck. I pretty much had to drag myself out of bed to go to the dentist. Since it was only a tiny chip, the dentist just ground it back so it wasn't sharp. However, it is temperature sensitive, so no tea for me today :( After that I headed to spotlight and spent over 30mins in line waiting to be served... If it wasn't the only place to get material I would definitely go elsewhere.
