Coffs Harbour

Coffs Harbour has become a bustling little city and quite outgrown it's small town street planning. It makes getting around frustrating, but the coastline is beautiful. We had planned to dive the Solitary Islands, but since Brandon had a cold and I had a stomach bug we had to cancel. The Solitary Islands are a chain of small islands and are in a protected marine park. They are rated as one of the best dive sites in New South Wales. We will definitely have to go back to do the dive!
Because Coffs still has a small town attitude there are plenty of hotels with beachside accommodation. We were lucky enough to find a unit that had beach views and was a quick stroll across the lawn to the sand. It would have been perfect if it weren't for the dreary weather and the poor visibility, making snorkeling a waste of time.

Dad couldn't help himself when he found a little blue-tongue
The Harbour itself is an attraction. There is a flat pathway that leads from the mainland all the way out to Muttonbird Island, and they you can climb to the top if you like. We had decided to do this walk on Sunday close to sunset. My secret agenda was unknown to everyone. As they all set out to climb the Island, I rushed back to the jetty to take some photos as the sun sunk.
