It's a moose! |
The original plan was that the boys would get up early to go hunting in the morning, because it was the last day of goat season and they had a goat ticket still. If you don't use your ticket, it's basically wasted. Thankfully, when plans changed and us girls were going too, it was no longer an early morning.
We drove for 2-3 hours into the bush, on logging trails, occasionally stopping to check for goats. I was concerned with how high up James was looking... There was no way I was hiking up to the top of a mountain to get a goat carcass.
It was really pretty though, especially since we didn't have much snow down in the towns yet. We eventually reached our lunch spot, and James got a fire going while the rest of us built a snow man. We roasted weeners over our fire and had them in buns for lunch. I don't really know how weeners is meant to be spelled when it related to sausages...
After lunch, we dispatched of some Halloween pumpkins by shooting them to pieces. And Brandon deafened me by forgetting to warn me before he pulled the trigger...
We then headed home, again stopping to check for goats. We passed Swan Lake on the way, which is very pretty, and the natural hot springs. These are very small, and were crowded with only 8 people in them.
