We both quickly started questioning our wisdom at choosing to camp all summer, when neither of us are even remotely excited by camping holidays. So, neither of us complained when we started looking at staying in a little cabin for a night. Then I upped it to two nights. Haha!
They had a few canoes and a little lake that fed into a larger lake. So, on our second day we went for a paddle. It was quite calming really, and we even saw a hoary marmot on the bank of the larger lake.
There was a bald eagle nest across the little lake from the accommodation, so Brandon staked it out the second night to try and get photos. This is about as good as he got... It was kind of hard in the fading light.
There was a healthy population of Loons on the lake as well. Large duck-like birds that have a howl-type call. They were pretty fun to listen to.
And lastly, here is the musk rat that we both thought was an otter when we saw it swimming around in the lake...
